Evaluation of the popularity and difficulty of subjects in lower-secondary of a special primary school

This diploma thesis aims to describe the popularity and difficulty of subjects at the second level of a special elementary school and what are the factors of this issue. The theoretical part introduces all the basic terms and concepts related to this issue using domestic and foreign sources. Scientific and pedagogical articles as well as professional literature in the field are used as sources. The reader will be introduced and acquainted with the issue of self-evaluation of the teacher's personality, his abilities and identification of qualities. In the practical part, a combination of qualitative and quantitative methods is used. Pupils of the second stage of the special basic school were assigned a questionnaire. Respondents were pupils aged twelve to fifteen and sixteen. The practical part is focused on the pupil's perception of the popularity of selected subjects as well as on their difficulty. It is found out what is the popularity and difficulty of the subjects. Use of a Snoezelen space for education of children with multiple handicaps at a special school

This bachelor's thesis explores the use of a Snoezelen space in the education of students with multiple disabilities at a special elementary school (a school specialized for students with disabilities). The goal of the work is to observe how a special elementary school uses the Snoezelen space to educate students with multiple disabilities within the theme of the seasons. The theoretical section presents the theory of the Snoezelen concept, the possibilities of its use, and relevant scientific studies that have been carried out. It also describes the education of students with multiple disabilities and explains how the Snoezelen concept can be used within this education. The practical section presents qualitative research, which was carried out in the form of observation of visitors to the Snoezelen space, interviews with teachers, and analysis of documents from three students. The research investigation section provides insight into how the special elementary school uses this space. In research, it was found that the school uses the space for education, focusing mainly on sensory, intellectual, and speech education, and for relaxation, using elements of the concept for basal stimulation. Distance education at a selected special primary school

The theoretical part introduces the target group - school and pupils with mild, moderate and severe mental disabilities. These pupils are still mostly educated at the special schools so the thesis describes the FEP for primary special education and points out the inclusion of a special education into the Czech school system. Additionally the thesis focuses on the distance learning modalities and approaches to distance learning. In the practical part a questionnaire survey has been used. Teaching staff from the special school in Poděbrady was chosen for the purpose of a questionnaire survey. Using the questionnaire survey, the author focuses on the evaluation and specific practical teachers experiences. Thesis outputs are examples of a good practice in the case of distance learning indicated to schools with a similar focus.
Art education at special primary school

The bachelor essay utilises empirical research methods in order to inquire into how graphic arts education has been implemented in a particular elementary school for children with special needs. Its main goal is to assess to what extent the outcomes laid down in the Framework Education Programme for Special Needs Schools were achieved in practice. The essay has two main parts. First is the theoretical part in which the following topics are discussed: the hierarchy and content of the Framework Education Programmes, M. Mosston's Spectrum of Didactic Styles; the Theory of Self-Determination developed from the thought of Carl Rogers to guide teachers in supporting their students' autonomy; the specifics of the graphic art creation process in the case of a child with mental disabilities. Second is the practical part which proposes a detailed analysis of two educational units which took place in a chosen elementary school. The method of both structured and unstructured observation were used. Semi-structured interviews with the teachers of the units were used to gather even more pieces of useful information. Development of communication for pupils at special primary school

The thesis is aimed to development of communication of students at special primary school. Special primary school is creating unique conditions for education of students with lower intellectual competences. The aim of education is equip students by knowledges and skills for integration into the society. The theoretical part of thesis consists of four chapters. The first of them specifies the term mental disability, classifies type of mental retardation, characterizes specific characteristics of person with mental disability and presents possibilities primary education mental disabilited students. The second and the third chapter compare psycho-motion development and ontogenezis of speech to mental handicapped children with children without disability. The thesis deals with problems of burnout among special educators working in special primary schools with students with multiple disabilities. There are defined basic concepts in the theoretical part of the work - burn-out syndrome, its symptoms, causes and stages of development. Separate chapters are devoted to the diagnosis of burn-out syndrome and prevention. Furthermore, the concept of a special educator and a multiple disability is explained in the theoretical section and a special primary school is described here. The practical part focuses on quantitative research into burn-out syndrome in two selected groups - special educators in special primary schools and teachers in ordinary primary schools. The results of the investigation are then compared with each other.

Analysis of the process of education of pupils with moderate mental disabilities focusing on innovative teaching methods, modern digital technologies and formative special pedagogical therapies

Rigorous work deals with the issue of education of pupils with moderate mental disabilities at special elementary schools. The aim of the thesis is to analyze the issue of education of these pupils at special primary schools, the use of traditional and innovative teaching methods, communication methods and supporting pedagogical and rehabilitation methods, and the most frequently used tools. Part of the analysis is to get an overview of using new media in the context of modern digital technologies in practice as well as the possibilities of including special pedagogical therapies in the educational process of pupils with moderate mental disabilities. Given the trends of contemporary Czech education, the problem of involvement of pupils with moderate mental disabilities in out-of-school activities is included in the analysis. Part of the analysis is the attitude of teachers of special schools towards inclusion. Then evaluate the current options, the advantages of using modern methods and technologies, and alternatively draw attention to possible shortcomings. Results of the analysis can also be recommended in order to make the educational process more effective for pupils with moderate mental disabilities.
